Calling All Field Day Volunteers

The Mohr PTA Field Day will be on Thursday, May 30  from 9:15 am - 11:30 am.

Please sign up to volunteer.  Our 650 students need you to keep this much-loved event safe and fun!  We need over 130 volunteers to properly monitor the kids out on the field.  Only "cleared" volunteers can participate in school-related activities.  If you are not sure of your current status, please check with your child's teacher in advance.

Week 25 Update

Just a quick update on a few important things happening over the next few weeks... 

Report Cards

Today (2/22) your student will have their progress report and Friday folder as usual. This is the last one for a few weeks as I start to work on report cards. Report cards will be coming home on Friday, March 8th.

Read-a-thon

In your Friday Folder you will see a sheet about the upcoming Read-a-thon to help raise funds for our school and classroom libraries. The PTA is sponsoring this event. Next week is full of spirit days to help spread the word.

• Monday, 2/25- Fox in Socks. Wear silly or mismatched SOCKS.
• Tuesday, 2/26- Green Eggs & Ham. Wear GREEN.
• Wednesday, 2/27- Horton Hears a Who. Random Acts of Kindness
• Thursday, 2/28- Cat in the Hat. Wear your favorite HAT.
• Friday, 3/1- Favorite Things. Dress as your favorite story CHARACTER.

Math Test

The Module 4 math test is on Friday, March 1st. This will be the first math grade of the 3rd trimester report card. 

Class Economy

Our next Pay Day is on Thursday, February 28th. Our next Class Auction will be on Monday, March 4th.

Science Fair

Please see my email with all the latest information about the upcoming science fair. This is 100% optional and is open to anyone wanting to participate.

Week 16 Newsletter

What a busy few weeks we've had! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving week. It was so nice to have a little break and visit with family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who helped donate items and money to make our San Jose Sharks basket for tomorrow's PTA Holiday Breakfast. Thank you to Elissa and Minal for their help in organizing everything. Our basket is very cute! I hope to see some of you tomorrow at the event.

Next Wednesday we are headed to the Blackhawk Museum in Danville to check out their Spirit of the West exhibit. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to drive and chaperone. It will be a great time and I think the kids will really enjoy seeing everything in this museum.

Friday, December 14th is our class earned party. Our class has worked very hard over the last few months to earn enough beads to fill up our Sharks cup. This has lead to a fun afternoon planned on December 14th. Students have voted on a theme and chosen... BYOD! Students can bring in their smart phones or tablets for an afternoon of fun and activities.

PTA Reflections

Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “Heroes Around Me,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. You can find entry forms and guideline on Mohr PTA website. Students can submit entries on Wednesday, October 17th from 9 am to 10 am.

Lunar New Year- PTA Event

The Mohr PTA will be presenting the first ever Lunar New Year celebration event at Mohr this year.  We would like to cordially invite you and the entire Mohr community to attend this exciting event on Friday, February 10th, from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm, in the Multi-Purpose Room.

This is a great opportunity for our students to experience the Asian culture. There will be live performances, arts and crafts, fun-filled games, and ethnic food.  Please help us spread the word and we look forward to seeing you there!
