Tuesday's Events

Happy Memorial Weekend! Enjoy your Monday off from school!

A few things for Tuesday:

  • Debates will be first thing in the morning. Just remember to practice your talking points over the weekend, so you're ready to debate with your group in front of the class.
  • There will not be Band or Strings on Tuesday due to our field trip to Harvest Park. You do not need to bring your instruments. June 7th will be the final Band and Strings session for the school year.
  • Our field trip to Harvest Park will be from 10:30-12:00pm. It's a regular day for us, so feel free to bring your regular lunch, or buy lunch on that day.
  • We will also be having our last Pay Day on Tuesday, with our last Auction on Wednesday, June 1st.

PUSD Film Festival

Check out a message below from Sarah Landis and Scott Padway, organizers of this year's PUSD Film Festival....
Our very own Heejee will have a video featured!

We are excited to announce that our 2nd Annual Film Festival event will be held next Wednesday! We hope you'll join us for this student-centered event that highlights our kids' digital skills and showcases student voices.

Details here:

More info on our website HERE!

Also, just a heads up ...
The street fair is also on June 1st (busy night!) so Main Street is closed. The Firehouse Arts Center parking lot fills up relatively quickly, so it would be wise to park on First and Second Street if possible.

And ...
We wanted to be sure and THANK all the teachers and students who participated in this year's event! We had so many submissions that it was hard to determine which films to show. We have a range of elementary through high school videos, and couldn't be any more proud of our students.

Volunteer Appreciation!

Thank you to all of you who have done so much for our class this year whether you drove on field trips, came to class parties, donated items for the classroom, or even came with us to Outdoor Ed!

The entire school is celebrating you, and everything you've done for us, on Friday, May 20th at 9:30am with a Musical Salute! Join us on the playground so we can extend our gratitude for all that you do for our school and our classroom!

Upcoming Events & Projects

Another week of testing is over!

This week our class completed the ELA tests for state testing (CAASPP) and did a wonderful job! I know how stressful all the testing can be, so it's a relief to have a few under our belt, and be almost done.

We are also working on a fun new math project... Geometrocity! Students are in teams to create a complete city using all they know about geometry. The kids are excited to start building their cities and making sure they have a good infrastructure. It will be a fun project that you will all get to see at Open House!

Up Next Week
Monday- 6th grade math placement test

Week of May 23rd
Monday- Math CAASPP test
Tuesday- Math CAASPP test; Open House 6:30-7:30pm

PUSD Film Festival

All students are invited to participate in PUSD's 2nd Annual Film Festival! Check out the website, HERE, to learn more about the rules and categories for submissions. Films need to be submitted by May 8th, 2016. All videos need to be uploaded to YouTube. If you are not comfortable having your student upload to YT, I am happy to house their video on my channel.

Good luck and I'd love to see what you all create!
