Outdoor Ed Packing List

Below is the packing list for our upcoming trip to Pigeon Point next week. Please make sure your child has all necessary items. We are in for a wonderful trip! Please be at the front of the school on Monday, February 6th at 7:45am. Buses roll out at 8am.

Weekly News: Week 21

This week Mrs. Davidson visited and we created self-portraits, but the challenge was to not pick up our pencil. We tried to complete our picture with one continuous movement! Students then chose to fill in their portraits with patterns in red, yellow, and blue. They turned out pretty great!

On Thursday we took a science test with Ms. Britto and the Mid Module 4 test! It was a busy day but taught us a lot about studying and prioritizing. A great skill to learn for middle school. The Mid Module test is available in OARS to review. Just sign in with your child's information.

We also had our first week of "Mentor Sentences." We are using great sentences from literature to learn more about author's voice, grammar, punctuation, and much more! This will be a weekly event from now on, with quizzes on Fridays.

Lunar New Year- PTA Event

The Mohr PTA will be presenting the first ever Lunar New Year celebration event at Mohr this year.  We would like to cordially invite you and the entire Mohr community to attend this exciting event on Friday, February 10th, from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm, in the Multi-Purpose Room.

This is a great opportunity for our students to experience the Asian culture. There will be live performances, arts and crafts, fun-filled games, and ethnic food.  Please help us spread the word and we look forward to seeing you there!

Weekly News: Week 20

What a quick four day week! We had a lot of rain which led to a lot of indoor recess time... hopefully all this rain continues to help with the California drought.

In Social Studies we learned about colonial America, the kinds of jobs people had and the way the colonial marketplace worked. We quickly discovered that the King of England stood to make a lot of money in the colonial system! Too many taxes! This will help us begin to learn why we needed the American Revolution.

On Thursday we had our first DARE session with Officer Batoy. Students are excited to learn from a Pleasanton police officer! We are in for many weeks of fun!

Super Band 2017

Super Band is an additional opportunity for 5^th grade band students to play after school.  There are 2 different super band classes.  Super Band plays full page sheet music and offers an additional challenge to the school band class.  

Students that participate in Super Band will continue to play in their school band.

One Super Band class meets on Tuesdays after school from 3:45-4:45 in the Pleasanton Middle School band room.  This class will start on Tuesday, January 24 and will be taught by Mr. Pedroni.

The other Super Band class meets on Wednesdays from 3:20-4:20 in the Harvest Park band room.  This class will start on Wednesday, January 25 and will be taught by Mr. Borris.

Please only sign up and participate in one Super Band class.

Super Band will have a concert at the end of March or early April and then Super Band will be over.  We will let you know the date and time of the concert shortly.

Weekly News: Week 19

Our first week back from Winter Break had us beginning to learn about multiplying and dividing fractions as we started Module 4, picking our new nonfiction writing topics which will focus on an event in U.S. history, creating beautiful Snowmen art pieces, and starting to learn about the 13 original colonies.

DARE permission slips were sent home along with your child's weekly progress report. Please make sure those are signed and returned by Thursday, our first DARE lesson.

Outdoor Ed Medical Forms... please make sure you have filled out the online medical form for your child. The link is HERE to submit.

Just a reminder that Monday is a holiday. There is no school. See everyone on Tuesday!
